Specialising in developing and commercialising projects under the Kyoto Protocols Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), CO2 Asia brings integrated carbon solutions to the emerging Asian market. A joint venture between two of the worlds leading carbon experts - Commodities Group and Asia Energy Development Partners (AEDP) - CO2 Asia has already secured major contracts valued at more than $50 million. Thats approximately 15 million Certified Emission Reduction Units (CERs) over the next 21 years. Singapore-based AEDP, which owns 40% of CO2 Asia, is a carbon and renewable energy specialist.
With strong in-country commercial and government relationships, AEDP has significant experience working with carbon markets across Southeast Asia. Commodities Group, parent company to subsidiaries including CO2 Australia and CO2 New Zealand, brings extensive experience in delivering low cost and long term integrated carbon solutions to individuals and organisations, and has a 60% share in CO2 Asia. Staying local, CO2 Asias contracted and pipeline CDM projects are located in Vietnam and India.
Carbon credits generated from these projects (pre-December 2012) can be traded under the European Unions Emissions Trading Scheme, Australian Carbon Scheme, and New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme.
